Today the spotlight shines on..........Daniel & Natalie Pearce
The Christmas stories for 2009 are starting to release and Myra Johnson's novel, One Imperfect Christmas seems a great place to start :) We hope you enjoy this look behind the scenes at Daniel and Natalie Pearce and pick up Myra's book as we head towards the Christmas season!
Over to you, Myra:~
Brief physical description
Natalie Pearce is a 30-something blond graphic designer who can’t seem to keep her hair out of her eyes. She’s a little out of shape from spending entirely too much time working at her computer.
Her husband, Daniel Pearce, is an average guy (athletic build, brown hair) who coaches junior-high sports and is most often seen in his red Putnam Panthers jacket.
Actor/famous person
Reese Witherspoon would be a good match for Natalie, and I can picture Scott Foley (formerly of The Unit) as Daniel.
AnnaSophia Robb would be perfect as their teenage daughter, Lissa.
Strengths and weaknesses
Natalie’s greatest strength is her commitment to her family, but she carries far too much guilt for something she had no control over, and she lets it get in the way of all her closest relationships. She still loves her husband with all her heart, but when she can’t forgive herself, how can she ever hope to be the wife he deserves?
Daniel is a devoted husband who’d do anything to reunite his family, but his attempts sometimes come across as meddling and manipulative. He’s a good dad who never expected to be raising a headstrong teenage daughter on his own, and sometimes Lissa threatens to get the best of him.
Quirk (if any)
Natalie is constantly having to flick her limp, straight hair out of her eyes. She’s also so focused on her work that she gets jumpy when interrupted. She worries way too much.
Daniel has a bad habit of mutilating the morning paper by snipping out articles from the sports section. He’s also not very handy in the kitchen and tends to clutter the table with all his school and coaching paraphernalia.
Your inspiration for the character
I honestly don’t remember how Natalie and Daniel came about. When I first started imagining this story, they just sort of stepped into it. One early image I had of Natalie, however, is similar to the very straight-laced and uptight sister-in-law character, Gillian Gray (played by Jessica Tuck), from the former TV series Judging Amy.
Background to the story
Natalie Pearce loves Christmas so much that she’d gladly
make it a year-round event—until one January when her mother suffers a massive stroke while taking down the decorations. Natalie blames herself for making excuses not to help. If she’d only been there, maybe her mother could have received the necessary treatment in time to make a difference. Natalie soon allows her guilt to erect a wall between her and everyone she loves, and only her family’s faith and persistence can heal Natalie’s wounded heart and open the way for the restoration of her broken marriage.
Thank you, Myra for sharing about your latest book and its characters :)
On Monday, the spotlight shines on T L Higley's Sophia & Bellus from her latest Seven Wonders novel, Guardian of the Flame.

Thanks for sharing ladies,

Hi, Lori! I was so disappointed when The Unit got canceled. Hopefully Scott will land another TV role soon. And it sure is fun to daydream about maybe someday seeing my story in movie form.
Thanks so much for inviting me to your blog today, Rel!
