Coming in September from Dee Henderson

So here it is!  Dee Henderson's long awaited new novel, Full Disclosure, now being released in September, 2012 from Bethany House.

Let's have your thoughts on the storyline, cover art and more!  I'm so keen to read this book and see if Dee has recaptured her great talent for storytelling after her long hiatus.

Ann Silver is a cop's cop. As the Midwest Homicide Investigator, she is called in to help local law enforcement on the worst of cases, looking for answers to murder. Hers is one of the region's most trusted investigative positions.

Paul Falcon is the FBI's top murder cop in the Midwest. If the victim carried a federal badge or had a security clearance, odds are good Paul and his team see the case file or work the murder.

Their lives intersect when Ann arrives to pass a case off her desk and onto his. A car wreck and a suspicious death offer a lead on a hired shooter he is tracking. Paul isn't expecting to meet someone, the kind that goes on the personal side of the ledger, but Ann Silver has his attention.

The better he gets to know her, the more Paul realizes her job barely scratches the surface of who she is. She knows spies and soldiers and U.S. Marshals, and has written books about them. She is friends with the former Vice President. People with good reason to be cautious about who they let into their lives deeply trust her. Paul wonders just what secrets Ann is keeping, until she shows him the John Doe Killer case file, and he starts to realize just who this lady he is falling in love with really is...

Coming in September/October from Tyndale House

It's been a bit quiet around here as I have been away for a week enjoying a lovely holiday break with my sister and her family but I'm back with a terrific post of upcoming books from Tyndale House.

I admit I'm thrilled with the cover art and am keen to read them all, especially Randy, Chris and Mel's books :)  Mind you Mel is going to have to work hard to be up to the standard of my favourite military fiction author, Ronie Kendig :)

Love to hear your thoughts on these offerings!

Populated with a cast of complex characters, “Tangled Ashes” follows Becker’s exploration of the castle’s shadowy past as he seeks to cope with an unbearable present.  From the virtually mute recluse who lives in the gatehouse to the feisty and enigmatic nanny of the owner’s children, every one of the château’s inhabitants seems to have something to hide and something to survive—but none more so than Becker himself.

7 Stories 7 Writers 7 Hours

Love this fabulous concept from James Andrew Wilson, Tyndale House and six other amazing authors.  Each individual story will be released in ebook format in May, 2012 and the omnibus in July, 2012.

Be sure to check out the 7 Hours website and Facebook page!

Death comes for everyone.
But what if you were given seven more hours? Would you go back and relive a previous time in your life? Or would you live seven more hours starting now? The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

7 writers come together to tackle the questions of life, death and time as we know it. Linked together by a mysterious character, each author has taken the same concept and created their unique story with a supernatural twist.

After a brutal attack left him without a limb and his team dead, former Green Beret Haytham “Hawk” Wilson is angry at life and God. Bitter, he pushes everyone out of his life. Every day he relives his decision to send the Afghan boy home rather than following orders to kill any who came upon his hidden team. So when on his deathbed at age 36, eaten alive by grief and regret, he’s offered the chance to relive any seven hours, Hawk is determined to go back, kill the boy, and save his team. The decision is simple . . . until he gets there.

The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

Luke Harrison is haunted by dreams of an imaginary past. Five years ago his wife, Arianna, fell victim to a horrifying degenerative disease, unraveling all of their dreams in an instant. Luke’s entire life is focused on her care and comfort.

But there is an approaching darkness, a malevolent Watcher who seems intent on taking Arianna from Luke.

Dreams and reality collide as Luke faces his own impending death. He doesn’t know what's real anymore, and time is running out.

The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

Mattie Bigham has lost his job, is losing his wife, and is not losing any weight. At just under four hundred and fifty pounds, he figures his doctor’s prediction that he's going to drop dead any second is about to come true. He is right.

When Thomas Constant appears, Mattie chooses murder—to carry out revenge on the bully who tormented him all through school. Except when he arrives for the showdown, he’s shocked to find this man in a scenario not unlike his own. Things get complicated quickly, and time is running out.

The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

New York City cabdriver Adrian Colfax awakens one night muttering a mysterious string of numbers and with the fragments of a bizarre dream in his head. He can’t shake the feeling there’s something he’s supposed to do. Something very important. He just can’t remember what it is.

Through a series of haunting visions, Adrian comes to believe he's been transported back in time to prevent the violent murder of the girl he loved. But he also learns that saving Kate could result in something even more catastrophic.

The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

Mike Harden is living a comfortable life when he discovers he is going to die. Though skeptical of the stranger’s offer, Mike chooses to go back sixteen years to the day he married Ashley.

When Mike realizes this wish has come true, it doesn’t take him long to begin to make plans. He didn’t relive this because it was the happiest day of his life. Mike made this choice in order to go back to the moment when a man named Vince Levy first saw Ashley. The first and only time Vince saw the woman he would go on to kill ten years later. Mike has gone back to his wedding day to kill his wife’s murderer.

The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

Professor Dan Blakely has it all . . . until a false accusation leaves him in financial ruin with nothing to fall back on and little hope.

In a moment of desperation, he decides to do the unthinkable. But when he loses control of his SUV and careens down the side of a mountain, his plans take another turn.

Trapped beneath the frame of his mangled vehicle, Dan is visited by a mysterious stranger who offers him three choices. Filled with regret, Dan makes a decision . . . but little does he know that his troubles have only just begun.

The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

Thomas Constant ventures to a mansion on a remote island, where a powerful criminal empire is gathering to witness the final moments of one of their own and readying their latest dark and dangerous plot.

They weren’t always this way. They were once ordinary people like anyone else. But a lifetime of complicated circumstances and difficult choices slowly molded them into this shadowy organization.

Can their long, complex history be changed by seven hours? The end has come, but this last leg of Thomas’s experiment may be the most challenging task of his remarkable life.

The clock is ticking. What will you do with the time you have left?

Death comes for everyone. But what if you were given seven more hours? Would you go back and relive a previous time in your life? Or would you live those seven more hours, starting now?

In this collection of seven full-length novellas, seven writers come together to tackle the questions of life, death, and time as we know it. Each author has taken the same concept, featuring a mysterious central character, and spun their own story.

Stories include: All of Our Dreams, Whole Pieces, Teardrop, Escapement, Recollection, Rear View, and The Last Night of Alton Webber.

7 Stories. 7 Writers. 7 Hours.

Coming in late 2012 from Thomas Nelson

Looks like readers are in for a treat with these late 2012 releases from Thomas Nelson (check out their new look website).

I can't wait to read Jim Rubart's book and William Sirls' sounds fascinating.  Always love Denise's books although the cover is disappointing.

The covers for The Reason, Soul's Gate, The Spirit Well and If We Survive are terrific ~ I just wish we would see something different for the books aimed at women.  I certainly in the demographic for those books but I'm one who would like a little cover variety!!  That said, I love the winter aspect of Dorothy's cover.

What are your thoughts on the cover art below?

The Reason by William Sirls

In a small town in Michigan, lightning strikes the cross outside a church and a brilliant young doctor, Macey Lewis, wants to help. When she recruits a volunteer carpenter, strange things start to happen.

Dr. Lewis's colleague, Dr. Zachary Norman, is a staunch atheist trying to understand how the carpenter repaired the cross so quickly. But the only explanation goes against everything he ever believed.

Four-year-old Alex Thomas is diagnosed with leukemia, and his mother has been told she must do only one thing for her son to be made well.

James Lindy, a blind minister, leads this motley crew in their struggle to see by faith—and to discover if the carpenter is the reason these strange things are happening.

Who can unlock the mystery of a map that spans history and alternate realities?

Kit Livingstone stumbled upon a powerful ley line inside the Bone House that transported him to an almost magical place: the Well of Souls. While there, he witnessed Arthur Flinders-Petrie, the Man Who Is Map, carry his dead wife into a pool of light and emerge with her alive again. Could the location of this place be the secret so jealously guarded by the Skin Map?

Archaeologist Cassandra Clarke is suddenly transported from a deserted canyon in Arizona to a busy street in Damacus, circa 1950. Through circumstances too precise to be coincidental she arrives at the door of the Zetetic Society—the Seekers—and is asked to join their quest to track down Cosimo Livingstone and his grandson Kit. But joining their cause is the last thing Cass plans to do.

Meanwhile, Douglas Flinders-Petrie—great-grandson of Arthur—ruthlessly pursues the map. Livid that his father withheld it from him, he is determined to find and keep whatever treasure the map holds for himself.

From the Stone Age to the Well of Souls, from medieval Oxford to modern-day Spain, from the pyramids of Egypt to an ancient shrine in China, the race continues for a prize beyond all imagining.

Coming soon from Tamara Leigh

One of my favourite authors, Tamara Leigh, is soon to release her first self published ebook, a medieval time travel romance called Dreamspell.  I've had the privilege of reading Dreamspell and can say you are in for a special treat!  Fulke is one appealing hero :)  Though Tamara is well known in the CBA for her spirited contemporary romances, she is equally at home writing medieval romance novels, the genre in which she first published in the ABA.

Tamara has a fabulous new website which combines her love of writing with the joy of cooking ~ be sure to check out the great recipes!  I'll let you know when Dreamspell is available and I'll post my review at the same time, too.

A time to live. A time to die. A time to dream.

Sleep disorders specialist Kennedy Plain has been diagnosed with a fatal brain tumor. When her research subject dies after trying to convince her he has achieved dream-induced time travel and her study is shelved, she enlists herself as a subject to complete her research. But when she dreams herself into 14th-century England and falls into the hands of Fulke Wynland, a man history has condemned as a murderer, she must not only stay alive long enough to find a way to return to her own time, but prevent Fulke from murdering his young nephews. And yet, the more time she spends with the medieval warrior, the more difficult it is to believe he is capable of committing the heinous crime for which he has been reviled for 600 years.

Baron Fulke Wynland has been granted guardianship of his brother’s heirs despite suspicions that he seeks to steal their inheritance. When the king sends a mysterious woman to care for the boys, Fulke is surprised by the lady's hostility toward him--and more surprised to learn she is to be his wife. But when his nephews are abducted, the two must overcome their mutual dislike to discover the boys' fate. What Fulke never expects is to feel for this woman whose peculiar speech, behavior, and talk of dream travel could see her burned as a witch.

For now, I love the cover of Twang ~ just great to see something different, similarly with debut author Krista Phillip's novel.  Shelley Gray's historical romances are excellent and her hero is a little Heath Ledger like!

Which ones strike your interest?

Yet a letter delivered by one of Robert’s fellow soldiers and a mystery posed in that letter put a father’s sacrifice and faith into perspective and bring new meaning to not just the star hanging on the Christmas tree but the events of the very first Christmas. Then, when least expected, a Christmas miracle turns a final bit of holiday sadness into a joy that the boy has never known.
