Escorting Danielle Roark, a demolitions expert who knows the location of a secret nuclear weapons silo, proves treacherous when they’re ambushed and captured. Sneak peek at Nightshade by Ronie Kendig
As you know I loved Ronie Kendig's debut offering, Dead Reckoning and I have been dying to share with you her next novel, Nightshade, the first in Ronie's Discarded Heroes series which releases in July this year.
Here's a glimpse into the series from Ronie:~

Six men return home from war. Now these champions of freedom are wounded and discarded . . . until a high-ranking official infuses them with hope. Together they become Nightshade, an elite black ops team that neutralizes hot spots other governments won’t touch. Heroes under the radar, these men must find the courage to fight one final battle—for their loved ones and themselves.
The series kicks off with Nightshade, a high octane military suspense novel that I have had the great privilege to read and be captivated by. Here's how Ronie describes her story:~
Max Jacobs is ready to end it all. His stint as a SEAL is over. So is his marriage. All thanks to his out-of-control anger. Then an invitation comes to join a black ops team called Nightshade. War changed him. War calls to him. With nothing to lose, Max signs on.
A failed marriage isn’t all her husband left Sydney Jacobs—he left her with an unplanned pregnancy. Heartbroken, she buries herself in her journalism career. Soon, she’s chasing an ultra-secret paramilitary group around the globe.
In the deadly jungle they battle for their marriage - and their lives
Now, here's a teaser from my review:~
Just like the Hayabusa motorbike Max Jacobs rides, Nightshade is a powerful and electrifying read, accelerating through danger at breakneck speed and stirring deep emotion as Max and Sydney watch their marriage disintegrate and danger come to their door.
Following Nightshade comes Digitalis, Wolfsbane & Firethorn and having already met these men in Nightshade I can't wait to learn their stories of courage, struggle and faith.
Stay tuned for more announcements about this series closer to the release date of Nightshade, including something very special from Ronie, which will encourage men and women just like Max and the guys on his team!

Coming in 2010 from Liz Curtis Higgs & Waterbrook Multnomah
I love Liz's books! Her historicals are very well researched and fascinating, though I have to say her romantic comedy Bookends has a special place in my heart - I laughed and laughed!
Looking forward to this one, though :)
Here Burns My Candle by Liz Curtis Higgs
A mother who cannot face her future.
A daughter who cannot escape her past.
“No moon in sight,” Donald observed, resting his forehead lightly on the glass. “No Highlanders either.”
“They’ll arrive soon enough.” Marjory extinguished the candle by her bed, shrouding the room in darkness. “Sleep while you can. And keep that bonny young wife of yours close at hand.”
“Aye.” The smile in his voice was unmistakable. “So I shall.”
Edinburgh 1745
Dowager Lady Marjory Kerr, a widow of substantial means, has two passions in life: maintaining her place in society and coddling her two grown sons. Lady Elisabeth Kerr, wife of the elder son, harbors a dark family secret, buried long ago in distant Aberdeenshire. When tragedy strikes, Janet Kerr, wife of the younger son, finds the ties binding her to Marjory and Elisabeth slowly unraveling.
A timeless tale of loss and redemption, flickering against the vivid backdrop of eighteenth-century Edinburgh, Here Burns My Candle reveals the many flaws of human nature and the bright hope of divine providence.

Can she persuade herself that her growing friendship with the mysterious and handsome Levi Burkholder is just about research? And what's a latte-drinking, laptop-using, motorcycle-riding reporter to do when this new life starts to change her?

Sneak peek at ML Tyndall's January release
MaryLu Tyndall is a fabulously entertaining author and a lovely lady to boot! Here's a peek at her January, 2010 release, The Raven Saint ~ I think it's her best cover yet :)When Grace Westcott is kidnapped by a French mercenary, tossed aboard his ship, and told she will be sold to a Spanish Don in Columbia, she cannot imagine what she has done to deserve such a horrid fate. She has spent her entire life serving God and helping the poor, not to mention trying to save the souls of her two wayward sisters. Thinking perhaps God has sent her to preach to the vile captain and his crew, Grace’s every attempt to correct their sinful ways is rewarded with only mockery. When Grace’s situation grows far worse than she could imagine, she is forced to face her own human weaknesses. But she isn’t prepared to face her biggest weakness of all—falling in love with the nefarious captain, Rafe Dubois.
Captain Rafe Dubois hates nothing more than a religious pretence of piety. Fleeing a home of abuse and betrayal under the thumb of his self-righteous father, he became a mercenary upon the Caribbean. There isn’t any job, no matter how vile, he won’t undertake in order to amass the fortune he needs to build a hospital for the poor in his home town of Port-de-Paix. The praises of the people fill a craving in his soul for the self-worth and value he never received from his father, not to mention give him a sense of purpose for his otherwise reckless life. That is, until he meets the saintly Miss Grace Westcott who continually berates his every move.

When he goes to Judge McMann’s home, his aim is to be a model prisoner, hoping to be released early and return to his life's mission: to kill the man who wiped out his family 15 years before.
