There You'll Find Me by Jenny B Jones

Synopsis:~

Finley Sinclair is not your typical eighteen-year-old. She's witty, tough, and driven. With an upcoming interview at the Manhattan music conservatory, Finley needs to compose her audition piece. But her creativity disappeared with the death of her older brother, Will.

She decides to study abroad in Ireland so she can follow Will's travel journal. It's the place he felt closest to God, and she's hopeful being there will help her make peace over losing him. So she agrees to an exchange program and boards the plane.

Beckett Rush, teen heartthrob and Hollywood bad boy, is flying to Ireland to finish filming his latest vampire movie. On the flight, he meets Finley. She's the one girl who seems immune to his charm. Undeterred, Beckett convinces her to be his assistant in exchange for his help as a tour guide.

Once in Ireland, Finley starts to break down. The loss of her brother and the pressure of school, her audition, and whatever it is that is happening between her and Beckett, leads her to a new and dangerous vice. When is God going to show up for her in this emerald paradise?

Then she experiences something that radically changes her perspective on life. Could it be God convincing her that everything she's been looking for has been with her all along?

My take:~

Jenny B Jones' writing is the Lindt chocolate of Young Adult novels.  Smooth, satisfying and memorable, always leaving you much to savour. There You'll Find Me is a captivating and deeply moving story of a young girl attempting to come to terms with the loss of her beloved brother and discover her place in the world.  Jenny has such an authentic voice, capturing teen angst, bravado and depth so well in addition to painting beautiful word pictures of Ireland and its people.  The relationship that Beckett and Finley slowly forge is appealing in its genuineness as Beckett attempts to shed his Hollywood persona and show Finley he is "real boy".  I adored Finley's attempts to connect with an embittered old woman and the way that storyline developed.  Jenny's trademark wit and directness is ever present creating moments of laughter and heartfelt emotion.  A tender tale with appeal to readers of all ages, There You'll Find Me is a must read novel of 2011.  I love Jenny's adult stories but now having delved into her YA fiction, I'm heading to my daughter's room to find her stash of Jenny B Jones' novels!

Such a delightful description: "the Lindt chocolate of Young Adult novels."
Yes, indeed.
May I borrow your daughter's books after you? Or maybe I'll just download my own copies to my Kindle.

First book I read in 2012 and LOVED it! Perhaps the only novel I'll willingly read with the involvement of vampires! ;)
Fantastic, a must-read.
