Children's Extravaganza Blog Tour and Aussie Giveaways

With three lovely daughters, I couldn't overlook the opportunity to read these books to them, particularly my four year old.

Wanting to give you specific feedback, I asked my little one what she loved about the stories. Her reply, "I loved it all!" So I tried again, "But what did you especially like?" With eyebrows raised and a big smile she said, "EVERYTHING!"

I don't think I need to add any more!

God Gave Us Heaven

Little Cub awakens one morning with some important questions on her mind: What is heaven like? How do we get there? Will we eat in heaven? Will we be angels?
During a delightful day spent wandering their arctic world, Papa gently answers each question, assuring Little Cub that heaven is a wonderful place, “a million times better” than she can imagine. He explains how God has made a way for those who love him to enter their heavenly home forever after their lives on earth are over. Reuniting the best-selling author-illustrator team from God Gave Us You, this gentle story provides satisfying answers for a young child’s most difficult questions about heaven. Parents, grandparents, childcare professionals, librarians, Sunday school teachers, and others will appreciate the gentle approach to a topic that’s on the minds of so many “little cubs.” Through captivating, full-color illustrations and tender, biblically sound storytelling, young readers and those who love them will find reasons to rejoice in knowing that God Gave Us Heaven.

Parents alike will appreciate the engaging stories that communicate God’s perfect plan and his divine purpose for little hearts.

God Loves Me More Than That

In God Loves Me More Than That, children learn that God loves them deeper than a wishing well, wider than a semi-truck, louder than thunder, and softer than a kitten’s sneeze. Each question, presented with charming child-like faith will help young ones grasp the great love of God through comparisons and descriptions they can easily understand. In short, they’ll discover that His love is bigger, wider, higher, and deeper than anything they could imagine!

I have some little people in my house that would love these books, please enter me!

My favourite book growing up was 'The Best Nest' by P.D.Eastman. It was the first book I could read all the way through, all on my own! I will never forget sitting in my mother's kitchen reading it to her and the sense of accomplishment I got from being able to read a book without assistance.

As for my fav book to read to my children now, the list is so long and I have already rambled on. So these are a just a few of them -
*all the Lynley Dodd books
*Humphrey's Day, Humphrey's Corner etc by Sally Hunter
*Bananas in Pyjamas Bedtime Book, Holiday Book & Playtime Book by Katrina Van Gendt
*The Father who Waited, The Friendly Stranger, The Shepherd who Searched & The Two Builders, Stories from Jesus by Margaret Williams
*Monkey Do by Allan Ahlberg (my 2yr olds fav)
*Paddigton by Michael Bond
*Is It Bedtime Wibbly Pig by Mick Inkpen

Ok, I said a few didn't I and there are so many more I could add. Sorry Rel, I have really gone on and on, lol! All this to say my children and I would love a copy of these to read together.

Oh, I'd love to be entered!

As children, my sisters and I read "John Brown, Rose, and the Midnight Cat" over and over and over. We also loved "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day." Confession: I still love it!

Nowadays one of my favourite picture books to read to my little brother or my wee niece is "Guess How Much I Love You."

Picture books are the best!

cool! i really wanted to get these books to review but missed the deadline. :( i've been racking my brains for a childhood book but CANNOT think of a single one!!! however, i bought one at the age of 20 when i was in america that i thought was great and my younger sisters have loved. it's "the princess and the kiss". it's a good way to lay the foundations for purity from a young age in a way that appeals to young girls. great book. :)

As silly as it sounds I'd love to be entered too. Even if Mr Busy is the only one who will truly enjoy the experience! I have some nieces and nephews who would enjoy them too.

At the girls' ages I love sharing with them the books that I loved once I became an independent reader.

We have all loved the Lynley Dodd books about Hairy Maclairy and Slinky Malinky.

Mr Busy particularly loves a good Dr Suess book. 'There's a Wocket in my Pocket' has tickled our funny bones!

I would love to be entered. My favourite books were any of the Enid Blyton books. As an only child I went into my own fantasy wworld and fully expected to see Dame Aashalot in a tree somewhere. Still wish I had a house with a secret room.
Books I like to read to my children? They loved all the berenstain bears books. Old Hat new hat. Any rhyme books. Now I have grandchildren I like to read to them as well. Hard to get a 17month old to sit for long so she enjoys the stories I makae up as we walk. Also the only person I know who actually approves of the songs I make up as well. Lots of nonsense times together. When you are a grandma, anything goes and people tolerate you with a tolerable pat on the head. We don't care because we are making memories together.
