Daniel's Den by Brandt Dodson & Open Giveaway

After a poverty stricken childhood Daniel Borden has achieved the stability and security he craves. A successful investment analyst with Capshaw-Crane, comfortable in his New Orleans home and the proud owner of a lab called Elvis.

When a colleague dies suddenly, Daniel is given responsibility for auditing his accounts. He is unaware that his peaceful life is about to be shattered.

Miles away a young widow struggles to bring up her precocious son and maintain her late husband's dream of a thriving bed and breakfast in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley.

Disturbed by the persistence of a strange man seeking to buy her property, Laura Traynor wonders what her future holds but she never envisaged it would include an attractive stranger and a terrifying flight for their lives.

Brandt Dodson has made a name for himself penning authentic and pithy crime thrillers with expert characterisation, plotting and timing. Daniel's Den reveals his skill is not only confined to that genre. With his usual tight pacing, multiple plot twists and characters that ooze authenticity, this story will take you on a fast paced ride through the intricate world of investment banking, money laundering and the down and dirty world of men willing to compromise their careers and integrity for a profit. I particularly enjoy that Brandt really knows how to create his bad guys, from thugs to white collar criminals, they are brilliant specimens of the corrupt and dishonourable! Daniel's dog, Elvis and Laura's son, Andy provide humourous relief from the rapid fire action and add an engaging dimension to the tale. If there is a weak link in the story it is the romantic element but I am confidant Brandt will strengthen that part of his writing in future offerings. All in all, Daniel's Den is a top-notch read from a very talented author!

My favourite animal was Rin Tin Tin. TV show back in the 1960's about a german shepherd and his orphaned boy owner who were cared for by soldiers in a fort in the middle of Indian country back in days of the wild west. It was all about the ecapades the two of them got themselves into and as a kid I thought it was great. Count me in thanks Wendyb

My favorite movie animal has to be Aslan from the Narnia movies. I love his presence and his power in the film.

How do I choose a favorite animal star? I guess the first one that comes to mind is "My Friend, Flicka," an ancient tv show about the horse, Flicka. Sweet, smart horse. Flicka's my fave. But, then, there's Benji, and...

Thanks for the chance to win. I love N.O. and I love Brandt's first book, so I'm sure I'll love this.
