On a rainy spring day in Seattle, young software tycoon Micah Taylor receives a cryptic, twenty-five-year-old letter from a great uncle he never knew. It claims a home awaits him on the Oregon coast that will turn his world inside out. Suspecting a prank, Micah arrives at Cannon Beach to discover a stunning brand new nine-thousand square foot house. And after meeting Sarah Sabin at a nearby ice cream shop, he has two reasons to visit the beach every weekend.
When bizarre things start happening in the rooms of the home, Micah suspects they have some connection to his enigmatic new friend, Rick, the town mechanic. But Rick will only say the house is spiritual. This unnerves Micah because his faith slipped away like the tide years ago, and he wants to keep it that way. But as he slowly discovers, the home isn’t just spiritual, it’s a physical manifestation of his soul, which God uses to heal Micah’s darkest wounds and lead him into an astonishing new destiny. My take:~
Looking for a workout for you heart and mind? A novel that will challenge your motivations and the way you live your life? Grab yourself a copy of James Rubart's Rooms and prepare to confront your deepest desires and impulses.
Rooms is the compelling story of software prodigy Micah Taylor who is forced to face both the beauty and destructiveness of his own soul, after receiving an inheritance that fits his every unspoken desire. With a mind bending premise, Rooms is a provocative and complex revelation of the human psyche in a thoroughly entertaining and tightly woven tale with long lasting impact. Suspenseful, romantically satisfying and spiritually significant, Rooms is without question, a must read.

This book definitely intrigues me and I'd love to read it. My favorite room is probably the kitchen as well. I love cooking with my kids, preparing food for my family, and eating, of course. :-)
Thanks for the review!

THIS BOOK IS AWESOME!!! I am so excited for Jim. Rooms is what I call a "living book" --one you don't want to miss because it will impact your life!
(Relzie-baby, don't enter me--I already have the book!)
My favorite room is my living room where I can sit in my walk through bow window and listen to the birds in spring and watch the snow in winter while I read!
Rooms sounds like a fantastic read. Please enter me. Thank you.

My favorite room of the house is the living room, because that's where the whole family gathers.

Geez, favorite room? Hmm. Bedroom, family room, sometimes the kitchen (but it's too small).
Love to read this.

WOW! This book is so out of the box and I'd love to read it!!! Please enter me in the draw. My favourite room in the house is our dining room. It has a huge wooden table my husband made that sits up to 12 people around it. We have our best times around that table, be it with the family or friends (and lots of food of course!).
Sorry I forgot to add (AUS) at the end.
This book sounds good. And I agree something outside the square. My fave room is my bedroom. I love my bed and I love lying on it with the fan going reading my latest book. (AU)
Probably the family room as that is where we all gather to do homework, read, watch TV and eat together. Sounds like a very interesting book. Thanks Rel and B & H Fiction

Great book, great review. Thanks for writing the book, Jim; and thanks for spreading the word on this wonderful book, Rel!
Currently probably the room that we call the "entertainment" room as it has the TV, radio and cupboard with board games and sewing gear in it. I like the light in that room too to the extent that I find myself in there to do my study that doesn't require using my computer.
You have my e-mail addy.

Cheers.

My favorite room is my bedroom because that's where I do most of my writing. I sit at the secretary desk I inherited from my great aunt and escape into the world of whatever novel I'm working on. It's my one truly private moment of the day.
