Today the spotlight shines on...................Lindsay & Jessica Bedford
Amy Clipston has made her mark in the Amish fictional scene with her debut novel, A Gift of Grace. Garnering 5 star reviews and positive feedback, I hope you enjoy this look behind two of the main characters in the tale.
Thanks Amy:~
Lindsay Bedford, age 13
Brief physical description
She's 5'5” and slender with long, wavy red hair and green eyes.
Strengths and weaknesses
Quiet, sweet, longs to belong, very attached to her aunt Rebecca since her mother just died. Craving a connection to her mother, she wants to be accepted in the Kauffman family and the Amish community.
Your inspiration for the character.
Adolescents (and also adults) crave a sense of belonging. It's part of the human experience.
Brief physical description
She's slender and tall (5'7”) with long, straight brown hair and brown eyes.
Think Lucy Hale.
Strengths and weaknesses
She's a moody, hot-tempered teenager.
Quirk (if any)
While Jessica may seem like a hardened teenager, she secretly blames
herself for her parents' death. She's drowning in grief and feels lost.
Your inspiration for the character.
I believe many adolescents go through a period where they feel lost and alone.
Background to the story
Jessica and Lindsay are sisters who come to live with their Amish aunt in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, after her parents are killed in a car accident in Virginia. Thanks so much, Amy ~ I am always fascinated by the creation of characters - it is lovely to have you share more about yours :)

Thank you Amy. The actors you chose as Lindsay and Jessica's likenesses are very similar to what I pictured as I read the book.
