My take:~

Pick up any Jamie Carie novel and you can expect vivid descriptions, perceptive characterisation and passionate emotions. Angel's Den provides all that and more as Jamie tackles the difficult and emotive issue of hidden spousal abuse in her most recent love story. With sensitivity and compassion, Jamie writes authentically about the frightening life Emma endures when trapped in a violent marriage and how drawn she feels to the compassionate cartographer her husband invites on their expedition. Murder, deceit and forbidden love journey together on the the Appalachian trail as Luke and Emma seek God's will in the midst of heartbreak and the binding power of Emma's marriage vows. While not an easy book to read in some respects, Angel's Den is moving and challenging, with a deep message of God's grace and sovereignty that will stay with you for a long time. Once again, Jamie proves she is one of the most talented writers in this genre.
